The place has a big pool and a gym, and it's in a good spot with things to do nearby. But the elevators are painfully slow. You can be waiting while they go up and down 40+ floors, sometimes packed with people, and then have to wait another 10 minutes. The queue in my photo even stretches further to the left. I won't be coming back. Save yourself the irritation and wasted time and stay somewhere else.

The location is a strong point, and the apartments and facilities are good. But elevator maintenance kept causing delays, especially at busy times. Waiting several minutes just to go down was common. I also found some rules hard to understand, and there were cockroaches. Once, my girlfriend was waiting in the lobby for her Grab ride and wanted to charge her phone, but security wouldn't let her. I worked late, so by the time I got home the pool and gym were already closed. That was frustrating as a resident who couldn't use them during normal hours. Another night I only wanted to sit in the pool area for fresh air. I wasn't swimming, wearing swimwear, or using the facilities, but a guard rudely told me to go back inside because the pool was closed. This condominium has what it needs to be a good place to live, but cleanliness needs work because of the cockroaches, and some rules and security staff attitudes need reconsidering. To be fair, not all the guards are like that. Others are friendly and professional.

Please actually fix the elevators at Beacon Makati. This has been going on for at least 8 years, as far as I know, and it's still happening. Of the 4 elevators, 1 to 2 are almost always under “maintenance.” That means about 20 minutes a day just waiting. Over a week that's 140 minutes, or around 2 hours and 20 minutes. In a month it's 600 minutes, about 10 hours, and in a year 7,300 minutes, around 122 hours. With a 1-year contract, that's more than 5 full days of your life spent standing around for an elevator. Maybe management is going for a Guinness World Record for the longest elevator maintenance in history. Please give up on that dream. Or maybe you're secretly working on an elevator that can travel at 100 km/h. If so, do it in your own home. I sincerely ask the management to do something about this and stop “maintaining” the elevators. Actually fix them.

We stayed in an Airbnb here for 2 days. The staff were all nice, and the place was clean. Our room had a balcony, which was lovely for looking out at the view over coffee.

The elevators show how poorly this place is run. It took us 25 minutes to go down and collect our food, then at least 30 minutes to get back up, so dinner was cold again. One elevator has been out for over a month, and some staff use their privilege to override another elevator, leaving the whole building relying on just 2. The hallways are dim, gloomy and drab. I think that's by design, because the interior is in such poor condition that you'd be appalled if you could see its current state. Next door, building 3 is well kept, with bright lights and working elevators. Complaining to management gets you ignored. The entire management team needs replacing. Owners should join together to replace them and fix the problems. It's sad that people in the Philippines think they have to live with these conditions. They're used to repression and don't take action.
