1775 Adriatico Suites

The rooms were great, very clean, and all the facilities worked. They even had free Netflix. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, though. It often jammed and sometimes stopped working completely, despite there being several servers. The building feels quite old, especially outside, but the rooms are nice and the prices are decent for what you get. Robinson supermarket and other department stores are within walking distance. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful. The lady with braces helped me a lot and kept smiling, while another colleague seemed rather unhappy to assist me.

The pool area was a real bonus, with a nice spot to hang out and even an aquarium. We could use the pool before and after checkout while waiting for our flight, and they also offered to store our luggage. Our apartment was surprisingly spacious and had a kitchen, dining table, kettle, microwave, fridge, stove, strong Wi-Fi, Netflix, hot water, soap, and shampoo. Free drinking water was provided too. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the airport, and both Robinson mall and an LRT station are around a 10-minute walk away. Everything was very clean, the staff were friendly, and there was a 24/7 security guard. Breakfast was simple but good. The free choices were basic, or you could upgrade for 350 pesos. We enjoyed the Lugaw and pancakes, though there was no fruit available, so bringing your own would be useful. We had a lovely stay.

The dining area has a great vibe, and I really liked the vintage look of the hallway. The pool was lovely too. The staff were kind to us from check-in right through to checkout. I liked this place a lot and would definitely come back.

The location was the best part for me. Robinson's Place, Church of Malate, historic landmarks, restaurants, and cafes are all within walking distance. The entrance can be confusing because 1776 is on an alley that appears before 1775. Taxi drivers and GPS may take the wrong route, so look for the 1775 Adriatico Suites sign nearby. There are also quite a few homeless people and bars in the area, so I’d avoid walking around late at night or going too far if things feel sketchy. I stayed two nights at a decent price. The rooms were clean, with complete amenities, though there was no view. The suite itself was nothing special, but the friendly, accommodating staff and location made up for it. The pool is small, not really suited to a medium or large group, and quite cold, but it’s open from 8AM to 9PM. Breakfast was a bit lacking, especially the so-called Continental option: just two slices of toasted white bread and a pepper-seasoned omelet. The pancakes and Lugaw were decent, though, and with so many places to eat nearby, breakfast was easy to work around.
