Casa Victoria Beach Resort and Restaurant

Our room was small, clean, and fairly priced while the hotel was being renovated. I wasn’t happy about the owners’ dogs pooping everywhere and going into the kitchen. There are lots of other places nearby, and I don’t expect to come back.

We didn’t check in here, thankfully, so I can’t rate the room. This is about the restaurant. Despite all the good reviews, the food was a huge letdown. The grilled liempo and buttered shrimp arrived neither hot nor even warm. The rice tasted really poor and strange too. For a major tourist destination like Saud, that meal felt like a total waste of money.

The room is good for the price, and having a restaurant right on site is handy. The resort is directly across from the beach, which makes staying here even nicer. 🌊✨

This spot has a lot going for it, especially the location. It’s special to my wife and me, and we’d still consider coming back next year to see whether the renovations improve things. For a room meant for four at 4.2k, though, the experience could have been better. We had to change rooms because the vent fan in the first one was barely hanging on. The room also wasn’t as clean as we expected from a resort. Staff seemed indifferent, as if they were just doing the job and didn’t really enjoy serving guests. Maybe they were shy because of language barriers. There were policies in small print behind the doors, with fees for disobeying them. Some rules were unexpected at a resort, like not bringing in food. What if you get hungry while their restaurant is closed? There were no kettles in the rooms, and they’d charge 2.5k if they caught you with one. My parents need hot water at specific times, which apparently isn’t accommodated. They held an event but forgot to remind guests, so we needed “special care” for lunch because the restaurant was “fully booked.” That extra attention earned them one more star.
