Hidden Lagoon Resort

The route here was scary on my scooter, with rough dirt and gravel, uneven sections, and big puddles. Once we arrived, though, the property felt quaint. The rooms were clean, the AC was strong, the hot water worked, and the swimming pool was a real highlight.

The Wi-Fi was excellent, strong and stable enough for remote work, and the quiet setting made it easy to get things done and relax. The food was a solid 9/10, while my room was more like a 7/10: simple, standard, and with basic amenities. With few guests around, the atmosphere was peaceful. Staff hospitality was a definite 10/10. The road is rough, but the shuttle made getting to and from the resort easier. I booked through Agod with breakfast included, and it was a great deal. We were exhausted from traveling and had already paid online for a booking made in advance. The road to the resort was muddy and full of potholes, which made the situation even worse. When we arrived, they said they were fully booked and couldn't give us rooms, even though our booking was confirmed and we'd already talked with them in the blue app. They acknowledged receiving it, then said it was double-booked and that they had no agreement with klook. One staff member blamed a coworker for not checking the bookings properly. They didn't tell us about any cancellation, and at first they weren't going to refund us. After repeated arguments, they eventually gave us our money back. I'm not writing this to roast the resort, just to let others know so they don't make the same mistake.

The grounds were clean and well maintained, and the manager had the staff busy keeping everything in shape. They even cleaned the pool each morning. The staff were very nice and the manager was great. It’s about a mile or so from Panglao town, with plenty to see and places to eat nearby, but it doesn’t feel very touristy. Alona is roughly 15 to 20 minutes away if that’s the kind of area you’re after.
