My friend and I spent five days in Building B, and there were so many problems the staff kept apologizing for that I couldn’t fit them all here. The lobby is just a fancy waiting area. There was no WiFi, and although I counted at least seven power sockets, the receptionist said guests aren’t allowed to use them for charging. Apparently that’s their policy. The pool costs extra, but we couldn’t use it because the host hadn’t made clear where to pay or get a ticket. There were cockroaches too. I guess you can’t escape them in Manila, no matter how much you pay for accommodation. The security door staff could be rude. I have hands and could open the door myself, so I didn’t need someone pointing out which door to use every time I came or went. Nearby Starbucks only gives you 60 minutes of WiFi before you have to pay. Maybe this works for people who live here, but it wasn’t suitable for travelers. I wish we’d had fewer bad experiences, because maybe then I would’ve enjoyed Manila more. Now I don’t want to return to the country, not just the city. And how does a big complex with reception have nowhere to store luggage? I’ve never had that happen on my travels.
