Aziza Paradise Hotel

I’m writing this while staying here, after just our first night, and I already can’t wait to leave. I’d suggest finding somewhere else. We arrived at noon, and staff said they’d clean our room right away and prioritize it. Since check-in was at 2 p.m., we went to the lobby cafe (?) to pass the time. There were several power cuts while we waited for our food, so it took almost an hour to arrive. At least the food was great. For a tourist destination like Palawan, I thought they might have found a way to handle that better. Even getting the receipt took ages, although we were the only people at the cafe, and we had to follow up. We figured the room would be ready by the time we finished eating, since they’d said it was a priority. But at 1:50 p.m. they told us to wait another 15 minutes. That wasn’t a terrible delay, but it set the tone: WAIT WAIT WAIT. The room didn’t feel clean, or maybe it was just so outdated that it looked dirty. The floor was sticky, surfaces were dusty, and some cups and glasses had stains. I worried they hadn’t been washed or replaced, so I boiled water twice to make sure it was clean, or at least close. The kettle was dusty too, the bathroom tiles were a bit moldy, and there were no floor mats. I could keep going, but I don’t want to ruin our vacation. For a place with so many staff, I expected better service. Instead, we had to keep following up and reminding them about things we’d just said. I also strongly advise against working from here. The power cuts are nuts, and the Wi-Fi signal comes and goes in some areas.
