Dang Maria Bed and Breakfast

We only meant to stop for a quiet drink, but stayed through dinner. The garden is lovely and well cared for, and lanterns make it feel especially calm at night. We enjoyed the salad and pasta, though the pasta was a little greasy. The menu has plenty of choices at fair prices, and the senior staff made the place feel welcoming and relaxed. The owner noticed us taking photos and offered to show us the farm farther up the road. They have four resident eagles there and showed us the nest, which was amazing. Thanks for such a nice visit. We'd come back if we get the chance.

We wanted somewhere quiet for lunch, and the huge grounds, full of trees and plants, had a peaceful, grandmother's-place feel. It could be a nice spot to read and enjoy the breeze, though the place needs better upkeep and attention. The food was average, some menu items weren't available, and service took a while, perhaps because they weren't expecting customers that day. The Lauya tasted and felt like my grandma's. The tofu with mushroom was too salty for me, the adobo was ordinary (our home version is still the best), and the chicken was average.

The garden is beautiful, especially if you like plants with big leaves, and the staff, though few, were enough. We had a lovely dinner with delicious food, and the seafood felt just right for Palawan. A nice place for a big dinner with people you love when you're in Puerto Princesa.

Restaurant review only: it was empty and felt isolated, with very little lighting and confusing parking. There were mosquitoes both inside and out. The margherita pizza was a letdown, with no mozzarella and tough dough.
