The room had some issues: the TV needed a new cable connector and there was no remote, the bathroom sink had weak water pressure and drained very slowly, and the AC was okay. It was inexpensive at 1200 pesos for the night, not too far from the airport for my afternoon flight, and breakfast was included. The staff were friendly. I originally gave it two stars while sitting in the lobby to check out, but the desk clerk asked about my flight and said I could keep the room for several more hours. She also arranged a van to the airport at no charge as a courtesy. That customer service more than made up for the room problems, so I'm changing my rating to four stars. Sorry for the delayed edit, and thank you.

Sotera is a comfortable place to rest, with polite staff, clean linens, and the basics: a clean room, air conditioning, TV, and WiFi. It's about five minutes from the airport and within minutes of several local spots. Don't come expecting top amenities, though; this isn't a five-star hotel. Finding the very best at the same rate would be a lucky hunt. Enjoy.

We spent four days at Sotera's Mansion during a family Christmas trip to Palawan in 2012. There were seven of us, five adults and two kids, staying in Room 9 on the third floor. It was spacious enough for eight adults and comfortable for resting after a full day of touring. The staff were courteous, helpful, and accommodating. The pension house is in the heart of Puerto Princesa, with easy access to different transportation. For the rates, it was a great deal. We'd stay here again when we're back, hopefully soon, and I recommend it to other travelers, especially families visiting Palawan.

This turned out to be a scam. I booked this hotel through Agoda, and the online booking was confirmed and paid for, but when we arrived to check in, they had no booking for us. Agoda should have checked more carefully before listing Sotera Mansion among hotels in puerto princesa. It's an apartelle, and what a scam.
