Ausan Beach Front Cottage and Restaurant

We left a day earlier than planned because we didn’t enjoy staying here. The location was handy, but we didn’t find much to do in Port Barton. Our basic bedroom felt dingy and dirty, and mosquitoes kept biting us through a gap under the door and a hole in the bathroom wall.

I had a really enjoyable stay, especially because the room was nice and the view was even better. The AC was loud, so I barely used it, but it didn’t bother me much. Breakfast was fine, though sometimes the wait was long. Tour boats actually take up the beach here, so for a proper swim or a chance to relax, go to Coconut or White Beach. They’re worth the visit.

A friend had talked this place up, and the flavors didn’t quite match the hype for me. Still, there’s a good range to pick from and the portions are generous.

We stayed for two nights, and both the room and bathroom were clean. When my girlfriend got food poisoning after El Nido, the staff helped us get to the hospital and checked in on us later. Then one of our backpacks never arrived from the airline. The team made several calls and arranged for it to hopefully meet us at our next accommodation. Huge thanks to everyone for the excellent service.
