Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the price felt very reasonable for the personal service. Ate Medela, the owner, knew the area well and thoughtfully helped us plan our stay. The couple keeps the place in great condition, and it has a lovely family-home feel. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend it.

Topaz Bed and Breakfast stood out for clear communication, punctual service, and respect for my time. I rented a clean, well-maintained car for a week, ready when promised, and also stayed overnight. The blackout curtains helped me sleep well. For visitors from the West Coast who value efficiency, it’s a strong choice. The locals are warm, kind, and honest, and I felt I could trust them with my belongings. I did notice that schedules and timelines are often treated more like suggestions than commitments here. The owner has lived and worked on the West Coast and clearly understands combining hospitality with punctuality. I speak the local language fluently and have family in the area, but coordinating with other businesses was still difficult. Many rely mostly on Facebook for communication and advertising, and I ran into unclear replies, long waits, and missing information, even when I contacted them months ahead. Some other options may be $100-300 pesos cheaper, but they can bring unnecessary hassle. If you like to plan ahead and make the most of your vacation time, Topaz is worth it.

We had the entire bed and breakfast to ourselves as a group of 21, and with so many rooms we never felt crowded or kept running into each other. Every room had its own bathroom and air conditioning, with some in the main house and others outside. The place is top notch, but the staff really make it. Everyone was kind and ready to help, and the owner was there and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices and the option to pick what you wanted. They also made fresh afternoon snacks for us. You can’t go wrong staying at Topaz bed and breakfast!

Medela and her staff made this a wonderful stay. She has cooks on hand and serves generous portions of different dishes, so there was no need to go anywhere. Our large room was comfortable, and even had a battery-powered standing fan for a blackout, though we didn’t need it. Medela knows the area and suggested a route that cut two hours off our trip.
