Fernandos Hotel

It's a nice place overall, but the dining area or restaurant is close to the room, so it isn't very quiet. The internet was slow or had no signal, maybe because we were on a lower floor, and it wasn't possible to work in the room. Cleaning times vary. It would help to have a water dispenser for refilling bottles so we wouldn't need to ask the attendants each time.

Cecilia’s is worth a stop at breakfast. The local Sorsogon flavors are authentic and well prepared. The hotel's rustic, homey feel, lush gardens, and outdoor pool make for a calm break from the city. It's also very convenient, across from the Provincial Capitol and within walking distance of the Rompeolas (Baywalk) and local markets. Fernando’s Hotel is the province's first DOT-accredited hotel, and it has a sense of history and warmth that modern chains often lack. The attentive staff make you feel more like a guest in a family home than a room number. The property is older, though, and while the rooms are clean and spacious, some fixtures feel dated. If you want high-tech luxury, this might not suit you. For character, convenience, and genuine Bicolano hospitality, it's a good choice.

They treated us so well, and for that they deserve five stars. Even though the hotel is small and a bit old, service matters most to me. The staff came first, then the food, which was another big plus, followed by the interior and exterior. It was my birthday, and we had planned to stay at Nature’s Spring after bathing at the hot spring, but changed our minds and went to Fernando Hotel. My team and I shared one room with an extra bed. We were surprised by the low charge: only 500 pesos for a comfortable bed with clean white linens and extra towels. We had brought food to grill at the hot spring, but grilling hadn't started yet. We asked the hotel staff to cook our tuna, and they happily did so for a very affordable charge. That made my day.

It's one of Sorsogon's original hotels, and the location is great, just a few steps from the provincial capitol. The spacious room was near the pool, and the view was relaxing, especially with a table outside. Food was good, though the choices were limited. There's a small pool that's good for young children. I recommend this place.
