Bar Cielo is a great spot to enjoy Tagaytay's cool air. When we got there in the afternoon it was 26 degrees, but the wind made it feel closer to 22. The rooftop bar opened in March 2025, which might explain why I hadn't seen anyone write about it yet, though Facebook already has lots of reels. I’ll let my pictures speak for themselves ❤️ There are six air-conditioned dome tents, each able to seat perhaps 10 people. On a weekend, arriving by 4 pm may mean getting a dome around 5, when people from Manila start heading down. That hour is especially nice because the domes light up 😍 A live acoustic band played that Sunday evening. There’s no cover charge or minimum spend to use a dome. The prices are reasonable, especially compared with Tagaytay’s notoriously sky-high bar food prices. We loved the Alta dynamite and nachos, and the baked Alaska cake was great too. The chocolate drink and americano were also really good. A nearby church has a lovely view of its own. I’ll write about the hotel itself another time. The guard said rates start at ₱6k, and, like Twin Lakes, the floors go down.

The rooms are spacious, and the staff were helpful from making the reservation through our time at the hotel. There were enough facilities to keep the kids occupied and give us plenty of time together as a family. It’s a relaxing place to unwind, and the well-known Capilla de San Antonio De Padua is one of its popular spots.

A couple of things were good: the front desk staff were approachable. The rest of our two visits this month was frustrating. On our first stay, the bathtub in the bathroom wasn't clean. There was kinky hair in it, and when I filled it with plain water, the water turned cloudy, like soapy rinse water. Don't count on a hot shower either, or even warm water in Tagaytay's weather. On the second visit, the jacuzzi wasn't working. Staff checked it and confirmed the tub's blower was damaged. We waited from almost 3 to 4 pm for an update, and when none came, I called to ask for another room since so much time had already been wasted. They agreed, but we didn't move until 5:15. Service was sloooow. The bathtub in the replacement room was dirty and hairy too.

We stayed in the old tower, not for an event, and the room was dated but still okay. It had an old smell, perhaps because so much of it was wood. The newer tower may be a better choice since that’s where the amenities are, though a shuttle does run between the two. On the practical side, parking gets very difficult when there’s a wedding or other event. There was no buffet breakfast, even on the weekend, and three of our restaurant orders weren’t available. The rooftop bar also stayed noisy late into the night, and the Wi-Fi barely worked. I’d have a hard time recommending it for a relaxing leisure stay.

The location is lovely, with a view of the lake and a mysterious feel to the place. It’s often windy and a bit cold, and the hotel seems set up especially for weddings, with a chapel, reception area and accommodation all on site. The staff were accommodating, and the place looks new. The gym was okay too. Getting between the ridges was inconvenient because we had to be driven by van. Our room was fine, but it had no windows, so we couldn’t tell whether it was night or dawn. The bathroom looked nice, though bath water spread across the floor and didn’t drain quickly because the floor was flat instead of sloping toward the drain. There was also a smell from what seemed to be an improperly installed P-trap. Air freshener didn’t cover it, even though they sprayed a lot. The elevator floor labels were confusing: our room was on the sixth floor, but we had to press 3. It would make more sense to label floors as they are, even if the building levels descend. The wedding coordinators kept changing their instructions, which made the whole thing stressful and tiring, especially for the groom.
