RedDoorz Plus @ The Ridge Tagaytay City

There’s a relaxed dining room and Wi-Fi, plus parking spaces. The rooms are simple, with flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and en suite wet rooms, and some have balconies. This adults-only hotel sits on a leafy hillside, a four-minute walk from a bus station, 6 km from People’s Park in the Sky, and 8 km from the shores of Taal Lake. Age restrictions apply.

The room is just mid. It’s good enough if you only need somewhere to stay or sleep, though there are better options.

We didn’t stay at all, even though we had no other accommodation lined up. The listing was misleading: when we arrived, we were moved to a different, dim property beside the actual hotel. It felt unsafe and unsettling, nothing like what was advertised. The place had serious horror vibes, and we weren’t even comfortable taking photos. I usually research before booking and rarely leave a negative review, so this was a major letdown. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

We booked and paid for one room for July 25-26, 2025. I’d been communicating with RedDoorz Plus (Agoda’s Partner) since July 15, ten days before the stay, and they acknowledged that I had booked through Agoda for those dates. Five days before our stay, heavy rain and stormy weather had been going on all week. Metro Manila, where we were coming from, had even flooded. I asked to move our booking to the following week. RedDoorz told me to coordinate with Agoda, while Agoda said its partner Reddoorz would decide. That was on July 23. I forwarded Agoda’s reply to Reddorz and asked them to get in touch with Agoda. On July 24, Agoda told me Reddoorz had declined my request. I was disappointed that the property couldn’t show some empathy over a simple request to avoid risk in stormy weather. I came away thinking they only care about business. Other properties in Tagaytay did let us move our stay by a week.
