Aliria Bed and Breakfast

The road into the hotel branches off the main JA Clarin road, and its first stretch is rocky and muddy, so driving in can be a bit awkward. The hotel is on the 2F and 3F, with the restaurant on the rooftop, and there’s no elevator. My room was small, as other reviews mention, but I packed light with just a small bag and had no problem. Big, heavy luggage could be tricky. The bed was thick and comfy, and I slept well. They provided clean towels, water bottles, and bathroom basics including hot shower, shampoo, shower gel, and a hair dryer. There was also a kettle, cups, and saucers. Most things were clean. For a budget hotel, it’s pretty good.

After a tiring day, it was a relaxing place to unwind. This was my first stay at Aliria. Our room was small, but enough for us since we booked only two beds, and the beds were bouncy. The smart TV will suit Netflix fans. There was a small cabinet, plus an electric kettle, cups, saucers, and a free bottle of water for making coffee. The bathroom had a heater, bidet spray, and toiletries. Staff were very accommodating, and you get a view from the rooftop dining area. Definitely worth staying at when visiting Bohol.

The staff made a real effort to meet our needs, and they handled the noise well, which counts for a lot. The rooms were the main problem. I think there was a bad sewage smell, and the Agoda listing promised a window with a city view, but our room had no window. The walls were thin too, so luggage being moved around at 5 in the morning woke us. On our last day, some moron sang in the hallway and woke us as well 😂. If you can live with the smell and noise, I think the hotel is worth every penny.

The service was awful. The extra bed had no foam and was so hard it wasn’t worth paying for. Staff seemed not to know what they were doing, and they borrowed our key card because another room had lost theirs. We were left without electricity while waiting for it to be returned. The staff also didn’t communicate with each other. Worst.
