Hotel Fleur de Liz - Tagbilaran

The toilet had an awful smell even when it wasn’t being used. The shower faucet looked new but was broken, with almost everything loose once you used it. I saw cobwebs in the room, and the sheets felt rough and made me itchy. Maybe there were bedbugs. The hotel looks new, but it’s sad they haven’t maintained it. There also seemed to be too few staff. I wonder how the front office could manage everything if the hotel were fully booked. It could be a disaster.

The roosters next door fought all night, and we woke up about five times each night from the noise. Good thing we’d booked only two nights. There’s a petrol station nearby where you can get SIM cards, and restaurants close by as well. Our mirror and TV were blurry, and we had WiFi near the reception. Some guests next door had a rat in their toilet. We chose this spot to be central for our day trips and close to the ferry, but it wasn’t worth it.

It’s a small, new hotel on CPG Ave. in Tagbilaran City, so the place itself is nice. The service, though, was almost horrible. They don’t even put cups or glasses in the rooms. You have to pay P5 each time you need one, and another P5 for hot water! I’ve stayed in local and international hotels, and this is the only one I’ve seen with such ridiculous service. They should improve it. 👎👎👎

The bed was comfortable, but the broken toilet seat, completely broken shower head, and odd-smelling water made the stay unpleasant. We left two nights early because we just couldn’t sleep. It was the noisiest place we’ve ever stayed: the chicken pen next door started at 4 AM and kept going, and traffic on the main road was so loud. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
