Mytown Amsterdam by OYO Rooms

This was a great find for me. For just over 1200, I got two nights in a room for two right in the city. The room came with a private bathroom, hot and cold shower, a personal fridge, microwave and cabinets for clothes. It was clean and felt secure since getting into the building, up the elevator and into the room all required RFID. There's a convenience store downstairs, and sari sari stores nearby too. I'll book here again if I need somewhere to stay in Makati.

I had a nice two-night stay in a neat room, and having a mini fridge and microwave was convenient. I do wish the hotel offered free drinking water refills. I can't start my day without coffee or tea, so luckily there was a minimart next door where I could get free hot water. That made my day :)

The location worked well for my appointments, and BGC was only a few minutes away by car. I stayed three days and two nights. On my first day the room was so warm that the AC seemed not to be working. There was no receptionist at night either. The person on duty, who I think was a security guard, said receptionists were only there until midnight. Maintenance told me that being on the sixth floor meant I should expect the room to be warm. I just hoped they could provide a fan or something to make the stay more comfortable.

Getting around from here is easy, and BGC is only a few minutes away. The staff were accommodating, and I appreciated how seriously they take security and health protocols for guest safety. The room was a letdown, though. In the app I saw pictures of the Philippine standard double with a table and chairs, but I think we were put in a Saver double instead. It had just enough space, a cabinet, microwave and small fridge. Wi-Fi was available, as was a TV, though with limited channels. The AC needed cleaning and wasn't cooling, but they moved us to another room, which I appreciated. I'd still recommend Mytown Amsterdam.
