Citi Budget Hotel Tagum

The location was very convenient, along the national highway and close to malls and restaurants. WiFi was surprisingly good, the water dispenser outside saved me from having to buy water, and checkout was easy. I stayed two days in a Standard Double Room in November and had a decent stay at Citi Hotel, though it looked quite different from the Agoda photos. There was a serious privacy problem. I was deeply asleep and not fully clothed, though covered by a blanket, when a staff member opened my room door without first checking whether anyone was inside. They knocked a few minutes later and offered only a minimal apology. Guests pay for comfort and privacy, and this needs attention. The cleaning staff seemed like good people, especially the night-shift reception people, but they need to take their duties seriously and follow strict rules for occupied rooms. They should also be paid properly. Check-in itself was fast, and I got the keys right away, but the floor was still wet when I entered. A staff member lent me a mop, though the room should have been ready before I arrived. The bathroom tiles needed more scrubbing, the toilet door was broken, and the aircon was noisy and looked dusty. The TV wasn’t cable. It worked for my first 12 hours, then stopped working over the following days. I’m sharing this as feedback from a guest who hopes Citi Hotel can improve for future visitors.

I spent about a week here and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and quiet with good air conditioning. There’s tasty food downstairs, plus a karaoke room. Food Panda also lets you order from places like McDonald's and Jollibee, among others. The location works well too, with a mall nearby and transportation readily available.

Good value for the price. The staff are outstanding and welcoming. There’s free wifi and heated water, too.

The twin-bed room was 999 for 12 hrs. There were three of us, and the receptionist suggested pushing the two beds together to fit us. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower had hot water. We didn’t get any bathroom tissue, though. We enjoyed the stay and added 3 hrs for only 100/hr.
