The view of the Taal volcano is the best, and they can arrange a boat for you. The rooms were very clean, and the indoor pool was clean too. The couple who run the place and the staff are lovely, and the cook makes excellent food. I'll definitely come back. A great spot to relax, have a party, or go on a company outing.

The location faces the taal, and the owner-host is welcoming and accommodating. The pool is great for summer, with natural water and not too much chlorine. I'd recommend it for an outing or an overnight stay.

The neighbours' roosters woke us at 2 am, crowing every 15 seconds. We were in room 103, and it wouldn't be my choice for a couple wanting a pleasant stay in a queen-sized bed. The dinner menu looked extensive, but we could only choose chicken or pork adobo. Getting help before the stay was difficult. The resort barely responded through the Expedia app, and after several calls, they eventually called us back. The toilet was clogged, though they did fix it. The room didn't look like the pictures: its wooden furniture was old and infested with furniture beetles. By nighttime, their droppings had covered our towels and the things we'd left on the desk. The whole room smelled strongly of urinal deodorizer, likely Albatross. The air conditioner was noisy, seemed near the end of its life, and couldn't cool the room much. Only one window opened, and its framed mosquito screen had a large hole. The photos don't seem to show the resort as it really is. The profile picture also makes the driveway look bigger than it is, since it was taken from the waterside terrace. To us, the place felt more like a cheap motel, and we could probably have found a better night's sleep elsewhere for the same price. I wouldn't want to judge every room based on ours, but we've since heard that friends who stayed in family room #101 had a similar experience.

The location was bad and the customer service was worse. I booked two weeks ahead, but when I arrived, the staff didn't know about my reservation or which room we were supposed to have. The host wouldn't answer the phone, and the posts are misleading. Getting to the resort is difficult if you're driving a big car, and the parking didn't feel safe. The hosts even told me it wasn't their fault that I own big cars!

The owner of Villa Caloocan is a foreigner from the Netherlands, in our own country, and he was rude, annoying, and unaccommodating. He shouted at us while dealing with us. It was disgusting.
