GC Hotel

As a Filipino living in Canada, I’m glad to have found a place in Zamboanga that feels like home when I visit. GC Hotel is now my go-to, and I don’t expect to look for another hotel here. Getting around was easy: the hotel is near the places I needed to visit and close to public transport. The complimentary airport transfer was a lovely touch. My room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet after a day out, and the rest of the hotel was just as well kept. The staff were welcoming from the moment I arrived and always ready to help with a smile. For the price, the value is hard to beat. GC Hotel has a great location, attentive service, and affordable rates. Highly recommended!

After a long day, it was nice to come back to a clean, comfortable room. GC Hotel is also conveniently located for getting around Zamboanga. The staff were friendly and quick to help, and the service is good for the value. It’s become my first choice in the city.

That first impression was terrible. I’m sharing this to get the management’s attention, since there’s room to improve. Maybe they’re not interested because it’s easy money. The room was disgusting, with a stale smell, stained sheets, and a dirty, smelly toilet. The air conditioning was awful, and there was no wardrobe or cabinet for clothes. What’s shown online is completely different from what we found. I opened the window and noticed two chairs beside it, which made me wonder if people were trying to listen in on what was happening in the room. We were so put off by the room that we didn’t use any of the hotel’s services. The price felt too high. It’s not a star hotel, or even Grade One, and checkout should be 24 hours rather than 12 noon. Location didn’t really matter to us. I don’t mean to offend or criticize anyone, but management needs to get its act together.

The bathroom was dirty, with what looked like bacteria growing by the towel racks, and the faucet handle hadn’t been cleaned. The shower dripped heavily and the water pressure was awful. There was also a strange smell as soon as we entered, and a yellowish stain on the bedsheets. Outside the room, the place looked like a prison cell with no decoration, apart from the lobby. The food prices are a waste of money. If you’re hungry, just go to McDonalds.
