La Orilla Hotel

The cafe and restaurant are nice, and the surroundings have a beautiful view. Rooms are clean and well kept, and the staff are very supportive.

The river views were good, and our triple room was spacious, with a king size bed and a single bed. But the rooms felt substandard, with dated decor, and the internet was very poor. I kept asking the receptionist to reset the modem. Hot water had to be heated, taking over an hour to get warm enough for a shower. It wasn’t available instantly, and a power outage from 5pm to 6pm due to grid load shedding delayed it further. There’s little to do outside and nothing within walking distance. On-site parking probably fits three cars at best, and roadside parking isn’t great. The hotel is next to a petrol station, with a handful of basic shops nearby, a tea cafe, convenience store, a couple of butchers, and a tire shop. It’s not a Bazaar. Since it’s on the main road into Muzaffarabad and there’s no activity outside, it does attract a crowd of locals. The door to the balcony and the great river views had no real insulation. It was December, with night temperatures in the single digits, and cold air easily got into the room. The heater’s warm air was being immediately cancelled out.

The cafe on the second floor was unbelievable. I tried everything, the coffee, tiramisu, cakes, and brownies, and it was all so good. I stayed there in December, and it was a perfect visit: good rooms, crazy good food, amazing staff, and such nice owners. Next time I visit muzafarabad, La Orilla will be my place to stay. 10/10 recommended.

The food was the highlight of my stay at Hotel La Orilla. Each meal was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The team takes pride in its work, providing attentive service without being intrusive. They gave me a genuinely warm welcome from the moment I arrived, and the hospitality felt heartfelt. With the great service and food, I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, memorable getaway.
