Ramada Resort by Wyndham Gilgit

The shower was quite cold because the water heater didn’t get hot enough. I also found the extra charges for mineral water and using an iron disappointing. On the plus side, breakfast was enjoyable and the coffee machine was appreciated. I stayed two nights for a holiday; the room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view of the swimming pool. It was a pleasant stay, though the facilities could be improved.

The food was great, and the outdoor dining area had a lovely ambience. Staff there were attentive, and the front desk team was friendly. Check-in itself went smoothly. Our executive room, 307, was spacious, clean and very nice, with a balcony facing a beautiful mountain view. We also accepted the late checkout they offered us. The booking left a sour taste, though. We arrived as walk-ins and were offered an executive room that we were told wasn’t available on booking.com. Later, we saw it listed there for less than the price offered to us. The hotel wouldn’t refund the extra 8000 rupees, and two managers I spoke with couldn’t resolve it. What started as an exciting experience was disappointing, and we felt the matter should have been easier to sort out. The gym, sauna and steam room were available, but it seemed there was no staff running them. I used the gym and asked for AC, but was told they couldn’t turn it on because of voltage. That’s crazy in a gym. We’ve stayed at a few Ramada hotels before, and we’ll try Serena hotel too and compare the two. Check booking.com before you book.

Everything was up to the mark, from the staff and ambience to the restaurant and rooms. One thing they could do as a travel company is arrange somewhere for guides accompanying international tourists to stay. Tour operators bringing business to the hotel should at least be offered a stay.

The peacocks wandering around the grounds really impressed me. I had a great time at your hotel, and the breakfasts were delicious. The pool outside is big and beautiful, and there’s also a small spa with a Jacuzzi, hamam and sauna, plus a gym. The rooms were good, service excellent, and the staff caring and attentive. Best hotel in the city of Gilgit. Thank you!
