We were upgraded to a better three-bedroom house with a great private terrace. The food they made to order was out of this world, and the valley view from the terrace through the pine trees was breathtaking. Staff were well trained and helpful. The host, Mr. Hamza, was amazingly friendly and helpful. He didn’t even bother me to sign paperwork or make any payment. Best of all, my phone network and Internet didn’t work, so I got time to talk with family and friends. It’s a spiritual retreat, one to do every year.

Imran Restaurant does delicious crispy fritters (pakoras) and awesome tea. The place is easy to reach from Islamabad, and up on the hills you can sit in a cool, quiet, peaceful setting. I gave it 4 stars because older or handicapped people can’t climb up and may miss the view.

I was really excited to visit bed & breakfast Savhalmir, but it didn’t impress me once I got there. The place isn’t properly maintained or clean, and the location didn’t seem special either. The rooms are below road level and look like local houses built along the hilly roadside. I wouldn’t stay there at any price. Still, if someone can’t afford higher rents, they could go there.

The environment is smashing and mind blowing, which is why I’d sincerely recommend this resort. I’ve had several lunches and dinners here with my family. One of the best resorts over Margalla hills, with plenty of benefits aimed at keeping customers satisfied.

A village-style retreat up on the Margalla hills, around 21kms from the end of 7th avenue Islamabad and about 8/9 kms past Monal restaurant. The road to SACHALMIRS is scenic and in good shape. It’s a lovely break from the city, with a few beautiful rooms, mountain valley views, and cool temperatures year round. At 4800 feet above sea level, it’s at least 10 degrees cooler than islamabad, even in scorching summer. Food is available on request, and staying overnight includes free breakfast with great hospitality. Worth trying for a few hours if you want peace and quiet.
