Mr. Khalid was awesome, and the breakfast staff were very courteous. Everyone working here was nice, and the location works well for both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. I hope things improve and bring in more guests. A bigger-name hotel is right across the street, but I'd choose grand Shalimar Hotel. There's something about the name “grand Shalimar”. I'd recommend staying here.

I stayed for eight nights and had a fabulous experience, especially with the staff. They were well mannered, hospitable, and well trained. The rooms were wonderful too, and the location was great.

The charges are sky high despite the disappointing conditions, so I wouldn't recommend this hotel. We had to change rooms three times while looking for hot water, and the rooms were in terrible shape for cleanliness. They didn't serve buffet breakfast, saying they didn't have enough customers. I came back with my family after almost 15 years. Back then it was one of the best hotels in Rawalpindi, but it's now losing its name and status.

The bed was comfortable, but there was no hot water and the furniture was old. Housekeeping wasn't good, and breakfast was limited to egg and halwa puri.

I've never had such a terrible iftar experience. The meal itself was awful, and the conditions for eating dinner were even worse. None of the fifteen dishes served for iftar was cooked properly.
