The garden was one of my favorite parts of Sehrish Guest House. It’s a lovely, well-kept place to sit, eat, or just unwind, with apricot and cherry trees and a relaxed cat wandering around. We arrived in time to see the cherry blossoms, which were beautiful. In April, hot water was available from early morning until early afternoon. We spent more than 15 days there as a family. The rooms and washrooms were clean, comfortable, and well furnished, and the rates were very affordable. The guest house is family-run and right in the heart of Skardu, with a calm atmosphere that feels close to nature. The owner, Mr. Akhtar Hussain, his son Mazhar, and housekeeper Shahid all helped make our stay comfortable. Shahid was especially considerate and professional. If we asked for something and didn’t answer the door, he would leave it on the table outside rather than disturb us. Once, when my door was open and I’d requested hot drinking water, he stood back and politely asked, “Sir, may I come in?” The guest house also serves homemade, hygienic breakfast for a modest price, which we preferred to eating out. There’s a market nearby, along with places for lunch and dinner like Wok Chef, The Food Corner, and Bzangmo Skardu. Pakistani guests wanting Quetta-style paratha and chai can find that near Wok Chef. I needed a car and driver for sightseeing around Skardu and nearby towns. Mr. Azhar, the owner's son, helped arrange one with his brother, Mr. Ather. He was a professional driver and guide, taking us to viewpoints and places to relax, have snacks, and take photos, as well as the usual sights. After more than a week of eating out, I asked whether the family could make us the same homemade food they cooked for themselves for the rest of our stay. They kindly agreed, though we hadn’t expected it and the guest house wasn’t obliged to do so. The food was delicious. The night before checkout, the owner invited us to dinner and served local dishes: Ballay (soup), Prappu (pasta), Saag (leafy green vegetable), mutton curry, homemade chapati, white rice, and local green tea. We really enjoyed it. It was also nice to chat with the owner and his sons and learn about Skardu, the local sights, food, and people. After this first visit, I’ve decided to stay here on all my future trips to Skardu. I highly recommend it to local and foreign visitors. There are only a limited number of rooms, so plan ahead.

We really didn’t want to leave. The owners and their family made us feel so welcome, and we loved sitting in the garden, sharing meals, and chatting with them and the other guests. They even brought out freshly picked cherries and mulberries, which we appreciated. The rooms were spacious enough to be comfortable, nicely furnished, and clean. It was easy to get around on foot, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and Manthal Buddha rock within walking distance. The owner was happy to help arrange a guide, a car and driver, or transport wherever we needed to go. There was no pressure to use those services, though. If we wanted to make our own plans, he’d simply offer advice. This place felt special, and we’d be glad to return. Thanks for such a warm welcome and kind hospitality.

I loved the family running Sehrish Guesthouse. The mum made me a wonderful dinner one evening, and the two sons looked after me throughout my stay. My room was clean and roomy, and breakfast was served in a great garden. I had a wonderful visit and would definitely recommend the place.

We spent three nights at Sehrish Guest House with our three kids. The staff were attentive, and the central lawn was a lovely spot to sit in the morning, afternoon, or even late at night. Its location near the main road made it handy for finding food and exploring Skardu’s beautiful landscapes.

The mountain views from the windows were stunning, and waking up to them was a real treat. Our room was spacious, clean, and well looked after, with comfortable beds and the basic amenities we needed. Sehrish Guest House is in a quiet, scenic spot, a short drive from the main city, so we had both peace and convenient access. The owners and staff made us feel at home from the start. They were polite and ready to help with transport, suggestions for places to visit, and tasty homemade meals. The homely feel makes it a good fit for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for somewhere safe, clean, and affordable in Skardu. We had a delightful stay and I’d choose Sehrish Guest House again next time.
