Hotel Wojciech

I’d definitely recommend this hotel. When our flight was canceled because of the difficult security situation in Israel, they were very understanding. I’d paid a non-refundable deposit and knew it wasn’t meant to be returned, but they made an exceptional decision to refund the full amount. That kind of humanity means a lot. I’ll recommend them to everyone. The hotel also looks to be of a very high standard.

My room had a balcony facing the lake, which was lovely for some fresh air in the morning. Everything was clean and tidy, and the hotel is in a nice location. Breakfast was okay, with sausages, eggs, cereal, bread, sweets, and good coffee for a hotel breakfast. There’s a spa in the basement with saunas, massages, and a swimming pool, all at no extra charge. Late check-in was no problem. The private parking costs 15 PLN/day, though you can just park behind the gate.

The main restaurant and reception have been renovated nicely, and the location is beautiful, but our wedding there last year came with a lot of problems. Planning and communication were poor. Management left discussions about the tables, menu, the day itself, and special needs until the final few weeks. We gave them detailed decoration items and instructions, and the tables looked nice, but one main table was set up the wrong way around. The groom’s mum ended up at the far end by the bar and kitchen. The other table was too short, leaving an elderly guest in a corner. When we asked them to extend it, the restaurant said there were no more tables. I don’t know why they accepted a booking for that many guests. We had supplied a detailed list of allergies and dietary needs, with color coding and highlights on the table plan to make it clear. Even so, the bride was served a starter covered in nuts. Thankfully, they were visible on the plate, or the celebration could have ended with a hospital trip or the bride suffocating. There was plenty of food and it was fairly good, but the presentation was poor, including unattractive cutlets for the main course. The staff serving dinner were nice and worked very hard. The next day, though, our wedding food was served to hotel guests at breakfast. We were made to hire rooms above the restaurant, whether or not they were occupied, at what was called a discounted price. Instead of the newly refurbished wing, we were put in old, communist-style rooms. The website photos were misleading, and so was what staff told us about the discount. The room for the bride and groom was similar, a little bigger, but dull, old-fashioned, and not right for such a special occasion, with no decorations or special touches. Reception also tried to move one guest into a smaller room without offering any refund.

The lakeside setting is beautiful, with a private beach right there, and the food was amazing. But the wait was ridiculous: we sat for over an hour even though it wasn’t busy, and nobody told us how long it would take.
