Polonia Park Medical Center & SPA

The staff were really lovely and patient, even when language got in the way. Our rooms were clean, the hot water came right away, breakfast was good apart from the coffee, and the drinks were carefully made. We enjoyed the pool, sauna, and the terrace view from the jacuzzi. One woman at reception even found us a bottle of prosecco late at night, though she didn't have to. I left her a tip and hope it was enough, since she spent extra time tracking down the one we wanted. Everyone helped make our holiday relaxing, and we'd probably come back :) A few things could be improved. We couldn't get the sauna up to the required 90°C because of the gap under the door. A light cover over the terrace jacuzzi would let people use it in light rain. It might also be useful to have a hotel phone on the terrace so guests can order wine; adding a service charge for delivery seems fair, since we paid the same as downstairs and the extra could go to the staff. Happy staff make for happy customers. Please add menus in other languages. Even English or German would have helped, as the translator didn't work for us. I know people from Poland get annoyed when there's no Polish menu in Prague, and there wasn't one here in English either. When I asked reception how late the restaurant served food, I was told 9:30, so we came at 9. After waiting half an hour, we were told there was no more food. There was just one other table there. Staff should be taught to order the food first. I work in gastronomy and service and studied cooking and waiting tables. I've also worked at a front desk, so I may be more demanding in these areas. I usually avoid bad reviews because I know how much damage they can do and how people misuse them. I might normally have given four stars, but I don't want to undermine the effort of the nice people working here. They don't deserve that.
