I didn't sleep at all. In room 408, a compressor next door ran all day and night, switching off for 40 minutes before starting up again for 30. Pure agony.

I'm on holiday from OZ. I tried to rent a boat and was told, “This is Poland, speak Polish,” in the rudest manner. The whole place is badly run. Stay away.

The hotel is right by the water, at a rowing base, in a gorgeous part of town. It's simple, clean, and functional, with friendly service, a good breakfast, and good wifi. One thing to know about parking: to get into the spaces in front of the hotel, you need to go to reception for the key, so you'll have to double park for a couple of minutes.

This could have been a nice hotel if they'd kept it fresh, but everything smelled. My room reeked of smoke, and the bathroom smelled of mold and water damage. The ventilation was so bad that I had to sleep with the window open in winter. The walls and floors hadn't been cleaned, the lamps flickered, and there were even silverfish in the bathroom. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
