A good value, no frills hotel if you're visiting the area. The bed and shower were nice, the bathroom was good, and the windows open. It's not fancy, but it's clean and tidy all the time, and the staff are friendly. Best for couples.

The place has real génius loci, a lovely wine cart, and the food is very high quality. The people are excellent, too. Some specific touches stood out, like octopus with sausage, and they don't bring you a vintage wine you didn't order.

The food alone makes this a worthwhile stop if you're travelling along the S7. The menu has some unusual dishes for Poland, including rabbit terrine, crayfish soup, shredded lamb, and beef cheek. The chef uses sauces really well, with a feel a bit like old style French cooking. The Tiramisu was probably the best I've tasted. If you have time, wander through the gardens to see the famous Sobieski triumphal arch, which commemorates the Polish King's victory over the Ottoman Turk outside Vienna. Nearby Checiny castle also played an important part in Polish history, including for Queen Bona.

The herring dish was one of the best I've ever had, and the duck salad was excellent too.

It was cold, barren, uncomfortable, and pricey. Unfortunately, I found it very disappointing.
