Premier Cru

The room was warm and cozy, and the food was very good, even delicious. It was a wake, and the room itself was lovely, though the rows of tables were much too close. The waitress kept bumping me with her backside as she squeezed between the chairs, and it annoyed me that she seemed unaware. The service was still incredibly quick and efficient.

I attended a First Communion celebration here and found the service terrible. Once dinner was over, dirty plates sat on the table for a long time, taking up space, while staff stood behind the bar instead of clearing them. The mother celebrating her daughter's First Communion had to ask for this basic service. The plates weren’t cleared after the First Communion cake either, and when coffee cake was served, the staff hadn’t provided clean plates. I doubt the staff were over 18. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Our company guest was moved out after just one night because the owner needed rooms for a larger group. We’d never encountered anything like it. We were told they needed the room and that our guest had to leave, then he was effectively put out on the street with his suitcases. We were sent to another hotel, but it had other bookings for the room, so he could stay only one night before having to move again.

The hotel itself was great, the staff attentive, and the room had fairly average amenities, a TV and mini-fridge. I was surprised there was no soap or shampoo. But the real problem was being told, before breakfast, to pack and leave. After breakfast I was told again to pack, and that the owner had found another hotel for the rest of my stay, even though I still had 3-4 nights left. She wouldn’t give me its name until I insisted I wasn’t leaving without details. Once packed, I went there, only to hear they’d been told someone might come ask about accommodation. Despite the owner saying she’d arranged everything, there was no reservation, no stay length, not even a clear number of people. They had only ONE place for ONE night and hadn’t been told I needed a COUPLE of nights. After this brazen handling, the owner of the Premier Cru establishment washed her hands of the situation, saying I’d gone, then changing her story. In that morning’s conversations, the owner seemed to be “yesterday.” BEWARE of reservations, as they apparently aren’t legally binding here, and the owner completely disregards consumer rights. It’s a waste of time and energy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this property, either as a potential customer or as someone who was wronged.
