Gosciniec Chorzowski

The only things I liked were the location, delicious breakfast, and friendly service. I spent two days there, and it was my first and last visit. I had a double room in the newer courtyard part of the hotel. The curtains looked as if they hadn’t been washed in years, the windows were dirty, and black cobwebs hung above them. The bedspreads and bedside rug seemed unwashed since that part was built. The sheets were too short, leaving the mattress dirty around the foot of the bed. The walls were so grimy that the room felt unpleasant. The bathroom was relatively clean, although the shower stall was dirty in the corners. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel because of the cleanliness.

The rooms were pleasant and clean, though a little small for an old tenement building. Street-facing rooms get noisy from the trams. The hotel is in a great spot in the center of Chorzów, but the staff still have a lot to learn about dealing with guests. It’s a nice place, though something about the experience just doesn’t feel quite right.

I came away with scabies after staying there. The beds are old, the mattresses are said to be 20 years old, and they stink. The rooms smell of old mattresses, bedding, and walls that remember the game. I wouldn’t put anything in the refrigerator, and someone staying only briefly might not even get a chance to use it. The people living there are elderly, sick people who wash once a week, a disease that receives government funding. This hostel was a huge mistake, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It’s better to pay the extra 30 złoty for somewhere better. I’m grateful for the illness I contracted, and to the kind ladies at reception who confirmed that pathology is also people.

I was very happy with the room, so I’m giving it 5 stars. The staff were so friendly, especially the women at reception and the woman who made breakfast. They always had a smile and tried to take care of every request. I can highly recommend the hotel!
