Villa Orlik

The house and grounds are really lovely, with plenty of greenery visible from upstairs, though the fence is closer than it looks. The area itself is pleasant for sitting back and doing very little. The nearby road is rocky and awkward to walk along. I drove it in 20 minutes instead of 3 because I was worried my car might get damaged or a tire could blow. The hunting stand near the villa and the gunshots you can hear were uncomfortable for someone against hunting. Upstairs gets very hot, and the only way to cool it is to open the balcony door or a window. The rooms were tidy, but the stained tablecloth and limescale in the kettle didn't look good. An oilcloth and a filtered water jug would help. The tap water seems hard, since glasses were left with lots of white residue after drinking. The towels felt like cardboard, and the mattress was quite soft. Breakfast was okay, but there were very few vegetables. If you have insulin resistance or diabetes and need vegetables, you might barely get a small tomato and some lettuce, as I did. There weren't enough eggs for 9-10 people either, and not everyone eats sausage. A bigger platter of cold cuts would be nice.

Villa Orlik is worth the drive. The rooms are a high standard and comfortable, away from the noise. Outside, there's a beautiful garden and lots of room to spend time with others or on your own. There’s also a fire pit and barbecue area, a large pond, and a shelter for bicycles.

We had a great weekend here in September 2020 and still remember it fondly. We’re coming back for a short break in May, and expect the friendly owners to welcome us just as warmly again. The breakfasts were delicious, so we’re looking forward to having them again. See you in two days :)

Only stayed one night, but it was peaceful and quiet, with a big garden, sun loungers and a pond. There were probably other nice places to sit too, but I found a lounger and didn’t look any further. The rooms were spotless. I did miss scrambled eggs at breakfast, though that’s just my usual travel habit. Highly recommend.
