Dworek Cieszyński

A cold beer was the one good thing here. We waited almost an hour and a half and still had no food. When we said we were leaving and would pay for our two drinks, the waitress didn't even suggest the meal might be coming soon, which gave me the impression we'd be waiting longer. The riverside Dworek Cieszyński looks pretty and clean, with pleasant outdoor seating. It reminded me of how things in nature can look attractive to lure in the unwary. Maybe it looked so clean because so little food makes it to the table. Then we saw the reviews...

It had a lovely tavern feel, with an interior that suited the food really well. The food itself was amazing and reminded me of my grandma's cooking. The waitresses were patient and helpful, and I hope to come back soon.

This was the worst restaurant we tried during our week in Silesia, when we ate somewhere different each day. My daughter's 'placki ziemniaczane' were the worst I've ever had: microwaved, far too salty, and overloaded with 'maggi'. Even I could barely swallow them. I'm vegetarian, so I asked for dumplings without 'skwarki'. They came with it anyway. After I complained, they took the dish back and removed the 'skwarki', but left the lard and little bits behind as if that was acceptable. It wasn't. By then we'd waited so long, I was hungry, and the kids were tired, so I swallowed it and moved on. Never again. Stay away.

The food is great and the service is nice, but the wait can be ridiculously long. I have to lower my rating because of it. I wouldn't go on a weekend, and the owner should hire more staff.
