Mercure Cieszyn

We were just passing through and had what we needed. The hotel was a pleasant distance from the city centre for a walk, and we were lucky to have amazing weather. We didn't get to try breakfast or the restaurant because we had other plans. The bed was surprisingly soft, but manageable for our two nights.

A builder let himself into our room at the Mercure with a key, without knocking, apparently unaware anyone was inside. I jumped up and he immediately ran down the stairs. It was a very unsettling moment. I told reception, but they dismissed it as a “funny mistake” instead of treating it seriously. That was really disappointing. Afterward we were left wondering how secure the hotel was and whether our belongings were safe. I expected more professionalism and accountability from a brand like Mercure.

We visited over Easter, and the food was a real highlight, with lots of delicious dishes that were satisfying and memorable. They also arranged a fun Easter Bunny hunt for the younger guests, which added to the holiday atmosphere and gave families lasting memories. The hotel may not look luxurious at first, but the welcoming, outstanding service made us feel valued and pampered throughout. It's one of the finest places I've had the pleasure of staying.

The parking policy seems ridiculous for a hotel on the outskirts of Cieszyn. It costs 30PLN per day, and I think it should be included in the room booking. Our room, 124, had a very old, deformed sofa. We were only staying one night, so didn't complain, but on a longer visit we would definitely have asked for it to be replaced. The TV was old and didn't work well either. Staff replaced it, but the replacement also wasn't new and had no HDMI slot for connecting a chromecast device. The hotel itself is good, but these things need attention.
