Hotel Szafran

If you’re traveling by car, this is a reasonably priced, good option. The hotel is clean and fairly comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast selection. It’s around 12 km outside Katowice’s center, though, and feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere.

We keep coming back here when we’re working and want a short break. The rooms are good and very clean, the staff are sweet and helpful, and breakfast is world class. The price and facilities are reasonable. We recommend it.

The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was good, and reception were so friendly. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially the incredible waiting staff. The food was good too. I noticed the English breakfast sign too late, and didn’t appreciate the head chef taking things away at 09.45 when I’d been told breakfast finished at 10. Maybe we’d got that wrong. On one of the days, others in our party arrived at 09.55 and were told breakfast was over. Fair enough, that’s cutting it a bit fine. Still, I’d stay again in a heartbeat. 11 out of 10, I couldn’t recommend the place more.

The food was good, but we visited in December and it was very cold in the restaurant. In the mornings, doors in other rooms kept beeping when they hadn’t been closed properly, which woke us up. Compared with other four-star places, I’d call this a solid three or maybe three and a half stars. We were there in December, and 3.5 stars describes the hotel better.
