A tidy little holiday house with a marine feel, run by a man who looks like a sailor.

The location is good, but the service was poor. I don’t plan to visit again.

We ended up sleeping on a mat on the floor, using our own jackets as covers, and left as soon as we could in the morning. If it had been warmer, we probably would have spent the night in the car. The room was unbearably noisy until 2 or 3 a.m.; you could hear every word from the other rooms and the hallways, and a smoke detector beeped in the corner all night. The owner was rude and surly, and a very unpleasant phone call was needed to learn that the dirty bed linen was inside the sofa, so we had to make the bed ourselves. The bed we’d been promised was actually a filthy, smelly sofa that creaked and fell apart at the slightest touch. There were no towels or proper bedding, just a TV and a filthy kettle. The room itself was disgusting, dirty, neglected, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Stains that looked like human excretions were on the carpet and sofa; there was a thick layer of dust on the dresser, doors, television, and windowsills, plus trash in the corners left by previous guests. The bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied, there was no hot water, the radiator couldn’t be adjusted, and the smell was awful. Sockets were coming out of the wall. Even the smallest amount of money isn’t worth spending a moment there.

There’s very little space, and the closet has trash left by previous tenants. At least the bedding doesn’t stink. If you’re not expecting much and only need somewhere to sleep, it’s fine.
