Relais & Châteaux Hotel Quadrille

We came because of the Michelin rating, but our stay never even got started. We were refused accommodation, despite providing the documents and certificates showing our dog was a trained assistance animal. The receptionist first asked where we had read that guide dogs were allowed. When I showed her the rules on the hotel’s own website, she gave a different explanation, saying we should have emailed the documents in advance. That requirement wasn’t mentioned there, and I can’t say whether it was even true. The reception staff didn’t know the hotel’s own rules and refused to follow them. Anyone with a guide dog could end up in the same situation. I never expected a place so highly rated by Michelin to treat people with health issues so unethically. If Michelin calls this place luxurious and exquisite, those words don’t mean much to me. I’ll send this account to an organization that protects the rights of people with disabilities for further investigation.

The spa was wonderful, breakfast was to die for, and the staff were both friendly and professional. The location was lovely too. One thing, though: for the price, I expected a coffee machine in the room, not instant sachets.

The only small drawback for me was the glass door and wall around the toilet. A bit more privacy would have been nice. Otherwise, it was a clean, friendly hotel with a large room and a lovely breakfast and restaurant. Totally recommended!

The breakfast was fresh and tasty, with plenty to choose from. The hotel has a rich history, and the interior design is outstanding. My room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Definitely make use of the spa.
