The 120 square meters gave five or six of us a luxurious amount of room. Some Tricity apartments might be a higher standard, but they’re often only 40-60 square meters, and you can hear someone clicking on their phone in the next room. We stayed in mid-November, and the temperature may have felt a little low for the women, though it was fine for the men. I recommend it.

The owner was very kind and attentive, and willing to work things out on many points. For a large family, I’d recommend it, especially with that big kitchen. We had the upstairs duplex in the left-hand semi-detached house. There was lots of space for a very reasonable price, and the place was clean and comfortable. It had three double bedrooms plus a sofa bed downstairs. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the linens were clean and fresh. The bathrooms were tidy and had towels. Most kitchen utensils were there, though a few pots and pans were missing. The toilet paper was next to the bathtub and got wet after each wash. The only other downside was no thermostat control: too hot at night, too cold in the daytime. I’m an adult and can tell when I want it warmer or cooler. At least the faucets had no temperature limits.

The apartment itself is quite nice, but at this price I found the problems unacceptable. It was winter, the controller was locked in a coded box with the temperature set to 13 degrees Celsius, and there was no way to make it warmer. The patio doors and windows were locked, and some needed locks, so they couldn’t be opened. Even stepping outside to light a cigarette left you standing in the cold like a snowman. The downstairs toilet also clogged, leaving stagnant water. Everyone has their own taste and tolerance, I suppose.

It’s a very large and comfortable house, and works well as a base for seeing the Tricity and nearby areas. But its best days seem to be behind it. The decor is dated, from the 1990s, and it needs a thorough renovation to meet current rental standards. Also, there’s no washing machine.
