Hotel St. Bruno

The building has a lovely historic feel and sits near the promenade and pier. Our room was spacious and convenient, and breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, served in a magnificent dining room. After a long day I enjoyed a swim in the pool and hot tub. It was a wonderful stay for a reasonable price, and I’d gladly return. Highly recommended.

The room was lovely, and breakfast was awesome. I hadn’t realized that quite a few places nearby are still closed out of season, so I’d suggest coming when it’s warmer. There’s a spa here, but we didn’t book early enough. If you want a massage, book 24-48 hours ahead.

The rooms are cramped, and ours was small, but it worked. The bed was okay. There are no blackout curtains, so the room was still bright at 21:00. I asked politely if they could find something to cover the windows. Staff said they’d sort it out the next day, then ignored me. The AC had just two settings, on or off, which meant either super hot or super cold. So don’t come here with kids. The location is great. Sitting outside with a glass of wine and watching boats squeeze into the canal is a must-see in Gizycko, especially with inexperienced boaters sharing a tight stretch with passenger ferries and the bridge openings. Breakfast was okay, but the dinner buffet was terrible. Yesterday I ate from the children’s menu, and today I couldn’t find anything tasty. There’s a very nice restaurant at the marina, about 10 minutes from the hotel. The restaurant chairs are funny, though. They make you feel like you’re sitting on the floor, and my five-year-old could barely reach the table. The pool area isn’t suitable for kids to play in. There’s lots of sharp tiling and edges, and the floor is slippery. The sauna is tiny, and a sign says you have to wear swimwear and can’t pour water on the stones. That should be the other way around. The kids’ playroom is okay. There’s also a pool table, but no cues or balls. I get the feeling that a lot of things at the hotel are made to look good from a distance, but aren’t really meant to be used.

Kamil, The Guest Service Relationship Manager made our stay so pleasant. He was welcoming and paid incredible attention to detail. The hotel is unique, with a good restaurant and spa. I totally recommend staying there.
