Baltic Sands - Aparthotel

This place has a lot going for it, but a few things made it hard to rate. The best part is the location, just a couple of minutes from the beach and a few metres from the main street. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was fresh and very clean. There was plenty of space for two, and having a separate living area was essential since we’d booked a “suite.” The space wasn’t huge, though, and the photos on the booking site were a little misleading. It was hard to tell which one matched our room. The bigger problem was the lack of a food prep area, so making anything beyond very basic food was almost impossible. We had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink, which was far from ideal. The crockery was limited too: one bowl, one large plate, three small plates, four cups and saucers, and some knives and forks. There was a large table in the living area, but we didn’t use it. Maybe the room could be rearranged with a smaller table and a prep area with a small sink. Even with those issues, it was comfortable, the staff were lovely, and it made a decent base for staying in Hel.

A cozy little hotel in a convenient spot. You can walk to the city beach and restaurants, and it’s right on the way to the open Baltic sea beach. A few extra towels would’ve been nice.

The balcony had loads of space, and the room itself was well presented and perfectly comfortable, even if it wasn't particularly large. Staff were courteous and professional. It's a new-looking aparthotel just off the main road, right in central Hel, so everything is easy to reach and the station is about a 10-minute walk away. For what I paid, I really can't fault it.

The room we got didn't look like the photos. It was small, and the balcony was too, unlike what the pictures suggested. There was no minibar or breakfast, and we were given just two towels. We ended up with a view of the parking lot. The price feels much too high for this level of service.
