Seidorf Mountain Resort

We got the taster menu (degustacja) at Restauracja Szyszka as a wedding present and had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was really tasty with excellent wine pairings. Vegan options would have made it perfect. Fish is meat, it just lives in the sea. The Seidorf porter is really good, but book a taxi because it's strong. ;-)

The Wi-Fi kept dropping out, so I couldn't join a Zoom work call or stream anything. At the lobby bar, nobody brought us menus after we sat down. We had to go to the bar to order, then ask for the bill. That's far below the service I'd expect from a 5-star hotel. We spent several nights at Seidorf over Christmas expecting a proper 5-star stay, but the service and overall standard fell short. The TV in our room was very outdated and couldn't handle modern streaming. Reception said they couldn't help if we couldn't connect it ourselves. There wasn't a single English-language TV channel, including international news like BBC or CNN. Instead, there were a few German channels and some random Russian ones, which felt odd for a hotel positioned as international luxury. The spa menu in our room was only in Polish. We asked for an English one, but it didn't arrive until the next morning. Altogether, this was clearly below 5-star quality. We wouldn't have complained if it had been advertised as 4-star, but the prices are comparable to Four Seasons or Ritz, and the service gap was huge and striking. I don't recommend it for international travellers.

We came back with our whole family, this time with our 6-month-old baby and our older child, who's 5, and we're very pleased. The food is excellent as always, and the service is great. The pool was clean, and the Wellness area deserves a special mention. With little kids, that kind of attention matters. The female lifeguard was so attentive to them that we had more time to relax, and our older son could always find new inflatable toys. It's an excellent place for a family vacation.

This place felt magical. The stunning hotel sits in the Polish mountains near the Czech border, surrounded by seemingly endless forest and fresh mountain air. The staff were phenomenal and kind, always going out of their way to make the stay better. We got a tour, heard the history of the property, visited the library and had fun in the billiards room. The restaurant exceeded what we expected. Its vegan options are unparalleled, and the nonalcoholic wines were better than any I've tried in the U.S. The spa, including its options, was unique and impressive. We even added a night to our trip so we could enjoy the place longer. I'm already dreaming about coming back.
