Hotel Alpejski

The spa is nicely maintained, especially the outdoor sauna hut with its glass wall looking onto the garden. Our room was well cared for, and the hotel feels very good quality. It dates back to around 2008, but was renovated and refreshed during the pandemic. You can tell the owners have put a lot of warmth and passion into the place. The food was very good, including the fine dining at lunch and dinner.

The breakfast had a huge choice, and dinner was really nice too, dessert included 🙈. Our room was roomy, clean, and cleaned every day. Everything else was fine, including the staff and the hotel itself. The one letdown was the sauna: it should be switched on well before the stated opening time. At 4 pm, when it was meant to open, it was only at 50 degrees. 🤔

The grounds are gorgeous, very green, and full of flowers and citrus trees. The mattress was comfortable and wide, 180 cm, and the fresh linens were clean. Staff were extremely friendly and polite, except for the woman at reception with the 90s makeup. I was disappointed by the room compared with the photos: there was no carpet, the ginger-colored furniture felt tasteless, and the curtains were dirty and didn’t block the light. Breakfast had very few cooked options, though the coffee was quite good. I’d also like the hotel to be more eco-friendly and replace the single-use plastic bottles and soap bars with refillable dispensers for liquid products.

We spent 10 nights here and found the hotel clean, with nice and helpful staff. Breakfast had a good range, including fruit, salads, and cakes. The indoor pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna were great, and the separate Finnish wooden sauna hut in the garden was lovely. Definitely deserves five stars.
