Mercure Karpacz Skalny

Breakfast here was more like a BRUNCH, and easily the best I've had in hotels around the world, including 4 and 5 star places. The buffet was high quality and beautifully set up, with at least 6 salads, 3 kinds of smoked or marinated fish, fresh pancakes, waffles, fruit everywhere, and more than just the usual sausage and eggs. There were 3 types of typical Polish sausage, kacanka, pirogie, scrambled eggs, bacon, and more. Cold cuts and cheese were just a side. We know poland because my wife is from wroclaw, but this breakfast was a culinary journey. Take your time, and I promise you'll skip lunch. My daughter (16) and I decided to get back into skiing and snowboarding in Karpacs, and chose the Mercure even though it's not right at the ski Arena. I know Accor hotels around the Globe, and this one stands out as superb in all matters. Booking and check-in were smooth, there's CCTV covered parking, and the hotel sits in a nice wooded location. Rooms are very clean and work well for a few days, with space to work and a Balkony. The bar area becomes the heart of the hotel in the evening. It's very kid-friendly, with parents able to relax over drinks while kids play in the 2 play areas beside it. The vibe is nice and everything is arranged well. If you don't choose halfboard, try the Burger, simply outstanding. Each floor has a free water dispenser so you can refill the provided carraffe, which is great and sustainable. Who needs a minibar nowadays? The pool and Sauna were very good. We were there during holidays, so the 2 pools & jacousy were for the kids, which makes sense. If you need to do your 1 mile swim, you'd better go early. It takes a 10 minutes Taxi ride to the sky Arena, but cabs are easy to get. For skiing, take a Taxi instead of driving yourself, or you might end up with a paid parking space 1Km from the ski area. The staff are the heart and soul of a hotel, and these people were helpful, professional, and smiling all day. From F&B and housekeeping to the kitchen and Engineering, they made us feel welcome and looked after. One small drawback: it's a 3 Storey hotel with appr.90 rooms (?) and only 1 lift for guests, luggage, and housekeeping. During busy periods or if it breaks down, you may have to wait. That's not worth a Bad Mark or point, though. Wow wow wow, outstanding in all matters. We ll be back.

It used to be the creme de la creme of the Orbis hotel chain, but those glory days are long gone and probably aren't coming back. The grounds cover a huge area, with tennis courts, and there's a very large parking lot. Service is mediocre and the rooms are worn out. Still, at least off-season, I think it's good value for money.

The nature around the hotel is amazing, the service is very good, and breakfast was very good too. It's a nice location with lots of entertainment for kids, and pets are welcome as well. Rooms are OK but nothing special. There’s no minibar, and the fitness center is really small with old equipment. I enjoyed my stay overall, but the fitness facilities need improvement.

We had a great 10 days in August and would recommend this hotel. The location is nice and quiet, near the centre of Karpacz, and the rooms are a good standard. Food was the biggest plus for us, tasty and fresh with plenty of variety. There are lots of facilities for kids, plus a pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The staff were very friendly.
