Palac Margot

The apartment was cozy and everything worked. Breakfast and dinner both had a wide selection, and we all enjoyed the SPA, from the pool and indoor fireplace to the hot pool, jacuzzi, and salt caves. We had a great family New Year’s stay, and the hotel exceeded our expectations for food, drinks, SPA, and location. We hadn’t booked a New Year package, but the hotel left sparkling wine and sweets in our room as a gift. The bar stayed open until 1.00 on New Year’s Eve, and the hotel offered a free glass of champagne that night. The fireworks were amazing too. I can only recommend this Palace.

The pool is small but cozy, with a fireplace, and there are both dry and Turkish saunas. Breakfast is a good buffet, too. My favorite spa spot in Karpacz, in an amazing 19th-century castle.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choice, everything neatly set out and staff keeping on top of it. You could also help yourself to prosecco, which made the morning feel festive. The restaurant is reasonably priced, and the main dishes tasted nice, though the portions felt a bit small. The village shops and restaurants are close by, and the surroundings are beautiful. The hotel looks lovely from outside, but the riverside part is neglected despite having plenty of potential. Our room was spacious, with a big, comfortable bed, but it was in the old part and felt musty. It was dark, warm and stuffy, with a tiny window. There was nowhere to hang towels, and the bathroom had mold. The spa needs maintenance: the steam bath smelled bad and the whirlpool water was very dirty. The sauna was nice, and bathrobes were provided. We paid 90 euro per night for two people over the weekend. At that price, we expected a more comfortable, nicer room.

The grounds are lovely, and there's a little river running through where you could have a BBQ. The building itself is beautiful, with modern sauna and swimming pool facilities. Our room was dated, though, and I couldn't see any AC. We were on the ground floor beside the lobby and bar, so it got pretty noisy.
