There’s room for improvement.

Clean place, decent rooms, and nice service.

The room was quiet at night, and there was plenty of parking. Getting to the city center was easy too, with the tram a short walk away and only a brief ride. The receptionist was nice, but reception is in another building. You have to cross a small square, follow a path by the fence, then go around to the building corner, or walk around from the other side of the street. I can imagine arriving at 8:30 p.m. after a long trip with two suitcases and discovering there's no reception on site. Inside, it felt like an old office building, with loads of outlets and phone connections. My single room had three big closets, a strong smell of stale cigarettes and hangovers, and no decor at all. The bathroom was just as bad. I didn't even take photos. The price was no bargain either. For 100 złoty, there are much better places to stay in Katowice. At exactly 7:10, the cleaning ladies started talking outside my door. One kept saying she was cold and uncomfortable, complaining about the dirty kitchen and calling her coworker stupid. I heard a lot of "s" and "ch" words, which was a real pain. The whole thing was a disaster.

For 90 PLN, I found the atmosphere far too unpleasant. The rooms felt stark, ugly, and old, with awful smells and so little soundproofing that I could hear everything. I spent much of my time checking the bed for bedbugs. I travel often and don't expect a luxurious apartment, but this place felt like a homeless shelter to me. I won't come back, even for one night.
