Apartment 32 Bombonierka Pod Aniołem

The room’s Victorian-style furniture and upholstery made it a pleasure to step inside, from the porch to the very comfortable bed. It felt quite different from the bright, modern lobby. The bathroom tiling was gorgeous, and showering there felt luxurious. The room also had all the facilities of a kitchen, though there was no tea, so bring your own if you like it. There are some lovely places in Kazimierz where you can get tea, too. Pod Aniołem is about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Kazimierz Dolny, in a quiet spot away from the main road and tourist bustle. The outside is striking, with its stone façade, red roof tiles and a cool ramp curving down under the hotel to the car park. Reception staff were kind and accommodating. When we checked out, the receptionist surprised us with a fresh Kogut, a rooster-shaped bread you have to try if you’re ever in Kazimierz. Such a nice personal touch. A few small things could be better. Some walls had dents and marks from previous guests. We only got one roll of toilet paper for the stay, but they were happy to bring another when asked. There were only two knives, forks and spoons for two people, so we had to wash up after ourselves. There were plenty of cups, glasses and plates, though. None of that took much away from my stay. Pod Aniołem offers an immersive stay in Victorian comfort at a reasonable price, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
