Hotel Spichlerz

We had to keep the window open because there was no air conditioning, and the campsite below woke us early with its noise. The room was on the top floor, with no lift. It was clean, though it smelled musty, and the sheet was too small for the mattress. Thin curtains hung from the sloping ceiling, leaving a big gap by the dirty windows. The hotel was a pleasant walk along the river from the town centre.

The staff were all really friendly, and the area was a good starting point for a trail upriver if you want to explore around Kazimierz. It’s a little outside the centre, though still an easy walk. We spent a pleasant summer weekend here. We stayed in the recently renovated Willa Murka section; the room was comfortable, even if it could use a bit more decor. The restaurant menu was limited and the food fairly plain. It was fine, but we’d eat downtown if we wanted something fancier.

The food was marvelous, and you really can’t go wrong choosing from the menu 🤩. It’s a wonderfully unusual place in a magical city, set somewhere very quiet. The heart of town is just a few minutes away on a lovely walk.

The staff were very helpful, and the location is great, with lots of potential. The place itself is very nice, but I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The food was very average for the price, which was disappointing.
