Radisson Resort Kolobrzeg

I’ve spent several dozen nights at the Radisson in Kołobrzeg over the past two years. The interior is lovely, and breakfast is tasty with plenty of choice, though it gets repetitive when you stay often. The service, in my experience, falls well short of hotels I’ve used from Spain and Brazil to the USA, as well as on cruise ships. For one night I can recommend it, but for a longer stay there are certainly nicer choices. At breakfast, I didn’t see staff smile. They cleared plates without asking or saying anything, and moved around silently. I’ve never encountered that kind of atmosphere in another hotel worldwide. The only staff I saw greeting guests warmly were employees from the Philippines and Black staff members. The Ukrainian employees stayed quiet. Reception was just as chilly. The receptionist didn’t greet us or ask about our journey, and didn’t wish us a pleasant stay after check-in. At checkout, the same person didn’t say thank you or goodbye. I told the new hotel director, who said she was still getting to know the staff and would speak to the receptionist. She apologized, but offered no gesture of goodwill. I also reported a decomposing bird near the entrance to our room. The director said she would intervene, but it was still there after five days. It was unpleasant to see and, in my view, a health and safety concern.

The clean, spacious rooms were comfortable, breakfast had lots of tasty choices, and the pool was quiet. I’d consider staying again if the price were right, since several things need attention. Our request for adjacent rooms had been confirmed twice by phone, but staff at check-in knew nothing about it and didn’t provide them. The game room equipment was all broken, and the gym didn’t feel like a proper gym. There are no stairs available, so you have to use the elevators. The downstairs pool is free for just one hour a day, then costs extra. At least it was never busy. The beach is a 12-minute walk, which may be inconvenient, and the drink I ordered at the bar was undrinkable.

We had a relaxing weekend in a clean, modern hotel, and the reception staff were especially lovely. The rooftop pool is available every day, while basement wellness facilities are limited to an hour daily, with a fee for more time. The buffet dinner was great, but reserve ahead since there aren’t many restaurants nearby. Free parking in front of the hotel is available from Saturday to Sunday. We’ll definitely come back.

The breakfast was good, but it was so crowded that staff struggled to keep the area clean. The hotel itself looks new and modern, and the rooms are clean. Still, as a couple looking to relax, we found the water facilities disappointing. The so-called aquapark is two small indoor pools, one outdoor pool, a couple of little slides, and some saunas. Hotel guests get only an hour a day there, and extra time is quite pricey. It’s also open to the public and full of small kids, so it didn’t feel like a relaxing treat. The little rooftop pool is free, but that means lots of people squeeze into a small space.
