The location is perfect for Krakow, just off the main square, with public transport right outside and the main train station about 20 minutes away on a slow walk. The beds are comfy and the rooms are very clean. All the lockers worked perfectly, and entry felt very safe: there are key codes for the main building and hostel, plus a room code depending on where you're staying. There's a big kitchen with seating for lots of people. The hostel has three bathrooms, two with showers, and the third has the washer and dryer. It does the job perfectly.

For what it costs, the quality is acceptable. I was there for about five nights, but sleep was a real problem. The beds were uncomfortable, the rooms got unbearably hot in summer with everyone packed in, and tram noise carried inside. Reception was only staffed for very limited hours. Several nights I woke at 2 a.m. to drunk, obnoxious guests switching on all the lights and singing. Other guests could be a problem too, including a grimy middle-aged man who farted, snored loudly, and generally disturbed everyone. I wouldn’t recommend it to first-time or female travelers. It might suit someone on a very tight budget who can put up with losing sleep and dignity.
It’s easy to miss the hostel entrance at first because a woman sells merchandise out front, making the place look like a shop. Look past her setup for the stairs up to the second-floor door, where the hostel sign is. Inside, it’s clean and well maintained, with a roomy kitchen and tidy bathrooms. The location right at the edge of Old Town is hard to beat, and the main train station is about a ten-minute walk away. It’s also easy to meet and chat with other travelers. A convenient, pleasant place to stay.
The common areas made it easy to unwind and meet other travelers, and the whole place felt cozy and welcoming. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and did their best to make the stay enjoyable. FiveHostel is a great base, just a short walk from the city center and close to public transport. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kraków.
Right in the main center, so it’s close to everything. Very clean and the people are friendly. I recommend staying here, and I’ll come back to this hostel.
