Aparthotel Vicini

The staff were always helpful, and the location made it easy to walk to the castle and old city. There are lots of bars and places to eat nearby too. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, and breakfast has great options. Thoroughly recommend.

I booked a stay with breakfast at a reasonable, fair price through www.booking.com, and the reservation was confirmed. A few weeks later, I was told the price had been entered by “mistake” and that the actual rate was almost 1.5 times higher, with breakfast no longer included. They offered to charge more for the room and extra for breakfast. This feels like a scam. Be very careful about agreeing to the hotel’s terms, as they seem willing to change them after booking and leave you paying more.

I lost confidence in the hotel after they changed the terms of my confirmed booking. They first confirmed a rate of 288 EUR, then later called it a “pricing error” and raised it to 478 EUR. Breakfast, which had been included, was suddenly an extra charge too. It felt misleading and unprofessional.

The hotel’s position is a real plus. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the old town and close to Krakow nightlife. The building is old, but it’s been looked after. Breakfast isn’t self-serve, you choose from a menu and wait, though they can adjust things somewhat to your wishes. Reception isn’t open around the clock, so contact the hotel if you’ll be arriving late. I had to haul my heavy luggage up the stairs, which I didn’t enjoy. There’s no hotel parking either, so you need to find a paid street space. For me, the room and service were normal, nothing special. Whether it suits you depends on what you expect.
