CONRAD Comfort Hotel****

A very nice, affordable four-star hotel just off the main road and close to the airport, which suited my layover. Check-in was quicker than I expected, and the service was friendly and accommodating. The room was modern, very nice, and clean. The beds were hard, but for the price it was great.

I had one night prepaid but left immediately because I felt intimidated and helpless. I left the room clean, intact, and in perfect condition. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I checked in late at night, and things seemed fine. The next morning a staff member told me to urgently go to reception because someone supposedly smelled smoke in the hallway. At the desk, I was told a cleaning lady had smelled something near my room. That was all they had: no photos, no alarm, no inspection of my room, and no other evidence. The receptionist was rude and disrespectful and demanded a 1000 PLN fine, about €250. She pushed the POS terminal toward me without showing proof. When I refused the charge, she mocked me, saying it had already been charged and she had taken it from my card. I never entered my PIN or approved it, yet the hotel took the money directly from my card. I consider this an unauthorized payment and serious abuse. The hotel's written policy, which I photographed, says smoking is allowed on balconies and in the courtyard, and the 1000 PLN penalty applies only when damage is caused. There was no damage, no smell, and no alarm. I attached photos of two POS receipts showing the transaction processed as “Visa Contactless (B)” without PIN verification, along with the policy that contradicts what happened. This goes beyond bad service. It's unethical and abusive, and should be investigated. Avoid Conrad Comfort at all costs. Photos attached show the 1000 PLN charge and the hotel's own policy.

On my first trip to Poland, I stayed here and had a spotless room. The restaurant food was perfect, and the staff were amazing. Reception knew a lot and were very friendly, and someone greeted me whenever I came in. I've worked in hotels for years and can honestly say this place is a gem. I'll be back in 2026 and will definitely stay here again. Special thanks to the Nightshift receptionist. She had a great conversation with me, her English was brilliant, and she gave me helpful pointers on what to do and avoid in Poland, especially Krakow.

The price is very reasonable, and it's not far off a four-star hotel, though I wouldn't quite rate it that highly. Staff were friendly and approachable. The room was spotless and comfortable, with a water carafe, fridge, microwave, kettle, tea, and coffee. I was in room 123, with a complimentary water dispenser right outside. The shower was wonderfully powerful, and underground parking was a safe, secure bonus. Soundproofing was decent. At check-in they gave me a physical key as well as a key card, which seemed odd. Then I found the card didn't open the door, so maybe it's broken and they hand out keys instead of fixing it. The temperature control didn't work properly, and one side of the bed had collapsed, so I'm taking a star off. I skipped the on-site restaurant because the prices seemed too high and ordered pizza with Uber Eats. I'd stay again.
